HOW TO TALK SO TEENS WILL LISTEN AND LISTEN SO TEENS WILL TALK: WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS

Civic Memorial is pleased to offer a 2 evening parenting workshop this fall. The workshop, How to Talk So Teens Will Listen and Listen So Teens Will Talk, focuses on practical and effective methods of communication that will make a parent’s relationship with their children less stressful and more rewarding. Parents will learn how to: deal with their teen’s feelings, engage their teen’s willing cooperation, address alternatives to punishment, and work out problems by putting agreed-upon ideas into action.

The workshop is facilitated by Janet Craig (school social worker) and will be held at CM on 2 consecutive Tuesday evenings (September 9th and September 16th) from 6:30-8:00pm. There is no cost to parents. Please contact Janet Craig to register for the workshop at 377-7230 x233 or email her at jcraig@bethalto.org.

College & Career Awareness Mondays
In an attempt to promote post-high school training and education, every Monday from September 8th through December 15th, members of our faculty and staff will be wearing collegiate clothing representing the institutions they or their family members attended. We feel this is a great opportunity to engage our students in conversation about careers and higher education!
