Mr. Charles T. Stegall Named As New Superintendent

The Bethalto School Board unanimously approved the hiring of Charles T. Stegall to serve as the district's next superintendent, effective July 1.  Mr. Stegall will take over the district leadership position from Dr. Cindy Blasa, who is retiring on June 30th.

Mr. Stegall is currently the superintendent in Lawrenceville (Ill.) Community Unit School District 20, where he has been the superintendent since 2008. Prior to his position of superintendent, Mr. Stegall had been the principal of Lawrenceville High School from 2004-2008. Previous experience also includes positions of assistant principal at the high school and middle school in Robinson (Ill.) Community Unit School District 2; high school and middle school principal at the Community R-VI School District in Laddonia, Mo. as well as high school Social Studies teacher and football, basketball and track coach at the Dunklin R-V School District in Herculaneum, Mo.

Mr. Stegall graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Mo. in 1994, and with a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo. in 2000.  Mr. Stegall received his Ed.S. School Superintendent from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Ill., in 2008.

Mr. Stegall and his wife, Rhonda, have 3 children.
