On March 14, Mu Alpha Theta celebrated Pi Day through the school. The reason why people celebrate Pi Day is because the date of 3-14, which Pi as a decimal is 3.14. Every student received the opportunity to recite as many digits of Pi for extra credit in their math class. The top three who recited the most digits were rewarded with an incentive to be able to pie a staff member in the face. The top three who recited the most digits were junior Mike Davis with 317 digits, senior Irene Zollars with 100 digits, and junior Addie Tuetken with 90 digits. During Eagle Time, everyone was called down to the gymnasium to watch the three students pie the three staff members. The unfortunate victims were Mr. Carlson, Mr. Klier, and Mr. Pipkin. "I think it went really well; everyone seemed to enjoy the assembly even though it was embarrassing for me when I missed Mr. Klier's face," said Zollars. Pi Day is a new tradition that students can look forward to each year in March. Students should plan to have a good laugh when watching the students pie the staff members in the face.
