FAITH'S LAW TO SAFEGUARD AGAINST SEXUAL ABUSE IN SCHOOLS
"Faith's Law: Effective July 1, 2023, districts are required to conduct an Employee History Review of prior employers to determine if they have been the subject of a sexual misconduct allegation, been discharged, been asked to resign, or were disciplined due to an adjudication or finding of sexual misconduct. Applicants who are offered a position will be required to affirm that they are not disqualified from employment for these reasons and to authorize this review."
Employee History Review for Faith's Law
To comply with Faith's Law, an Employment History Review (EHR) must be initiated for all employees hired after July 1, 2023. The EHR will request prior employers to disclose whether you have been the subject of a sexual misconduct allegation, been discharged, been asked to resign, or were disciplined due to an adjudication or finding of sexual misconduct.
The district has partnered with Verifent to facilitate this process for our new employees. Once you have provided the necessary information, Verifent will send the form to your prior employer(s), monitor the completion status, and provide responses to our district.
As a new hire, you will be provided detailed instructions on how to complete this process. Employees hired after July 1, 2023 must complete this process before they can begin working for the school district.
